Hi, I'm Megan! I'm so glad you're here.My journey into wedding photography started over 10+ years ago when my uncle asked me to snap a few photos at his wedding. I was instantly hooked! Since then, I've earned a Bachelor of Science in Film and Video Production from Grand Valley and worked on various multimedia teams all well photographing weddings on the side.
In 2020, I took the plunge to make Megan Kathleen Photos my full-time gig, and it's been a wild ride ever since. From that very first wedding, I knew this was my calling, and I'm grateful for each and every experience that led me here. Now with over 100 weddings in the books, I'm up for any challenge!
Being a photographer is more than just clicking a button. It’s getting to know my clients and understanding what is important for them to have documented in their photographs.
My mission is simple: to ensure you fall in love with your photos, just as deeply as I fell in love with documenting them.
My approachMy approach is relaxed, intentional, and documentary-inspired. I’ll give you direction when you need it, but I’m mostly there to let things unfold naturally. I want your photos to feel like you!
That might mean giving you a little direction during portraits so you’re not wondering what to do with your hands, then stepping back and letting you two interact naturally. Or focusing on your friends and family during toasts to capture their reactions. I’m always looking for those little moments that you might not even notice happening, but will want to remember later.
You don’t have to know how to pose or be comfortable in front of a camera. That’s my job. I’m there to help when you need it and step back when you don’t.
